Long Valley Welcomes Janet Byrd, FNP-C

We are excited to welcome Janet K. Byrd, FNP-C, to the LVHC medical team! Janet brings more than 11 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and over 20 years in nursing, with much of her career dedicated to serving patients in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). Her deep commitment to accessible, high-quality care makes her a wonderful addition to our community.

Janet recently moved to Laytonville from Sonoma, California, with her partner and their five dogs. When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find her spending time outdoors, camping, enjoying the coast, or hanging out with her dogs. Janet earned her FNP degree from UNLV in 2014 and has a passion for building strong, trusting relationships with her patients. She enjoys caring for individuals and families across the lifespan and believes that taking time to truly get to know patients is the foundation of good healthcare.

Janet’s clinical focus includes preventive care, chronic disease management, and helping patients understand their treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their health. She is especially passionate about patient and family education, empowering people to take an active role in their care. In addition to her clinical work, Janet has experience in higher education as both an educator and administrator, and she enjoys collaborating with interdisciplinary care teams and mentoring students and new clinicians. Her approach to care is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a strong commitment to the community she serves.

With Janet joining the team, LVHC now offers care from two Nurse Practitioners and two Medical Doctors, helping expand access and better serve our community.
